Another poll?

What will the vote be @ 5 pm tonight? The first cloture vote (to proceed) was what, 87-13?

I am going to roll the dice and say......a few more will vote for it.....92-8!

  1. Hmm, I am thinking I am more optimistic at night, but now that day has dawned, I am switching to 80-20

    Bah Humbug.

    Make that 70-30

  2. Yeah, to me it seems that if the yeas are much higher than they were there would be less of a reason for the vote for cloture and more of a chance they would just bring the bill to the floor for a vote. Who knows right now I'm battling the SHDD mentality. The longer its takes them the more gloomy the outcome for most of us anyway. Bah Humbug is right!!

  4. Omg, Someone needs to stuff that 4 line piece of paper down Thune's mouth and kick him to the curb! He must have been a salesman before coming to the Senate because he sounds like a used car salesman! What part of this bill will not pass the house if the TARP amendment is attached to the bill!

  6. All bets in and the race is on!! No changes to the poll results can be made and the winner will get the satisfaction of knowing they are thinking more like a Senator everyday!

  10. Okay crew it appears that we have overcome another hurdle.(YAY!?) Now the question is this, if they vote tomorrow and the bill gets to Obama by Wednesday do you think that the state offices are prepared for us to certify and get a check by next week? I for one need to get a moving truck by tomorrow (last week actually) but I may be able to stall for one more week.

  11. Thanks to the "speedy" actions of the senate I am officially evicted without a chance to redeem. Maybe they can be "slow"enough for me to atleast get the family moved. (Thank god for a new place)

  14. ...and silly silly us, we all acted like all 100 senators would be back in DC and prepared to vote. Guess three days at home wasn't enough (and I can say with certainty many were at home since late Thursday one of them mentioned that most of the Senators had to leave to catch their trains & planes).

They ARE in session tomorrow, right? Election day?

  17. Good Morning OMG!
You are not alone in the eviction boat, I was woke up this morning by the pounding on the door by the Sheriff serving me with my "notice to appear".

So this extension will at best, whenever it happens, put some money in my pocket, but it wont help me save my apartment, as a matter of fact, I learned yesterday that they can garnish my Unemployment to get their money. IT probably wont help me save my car, and wont help me save the phone number that is on all my applications and resumes I have sent out over the past 20 months, but maybe I will be able to buy myself a Christmas present.

And here is the Senate talking about how the republicans wont talk to the Democrats about climate control! Oh Really, it appears to me they wont talk to them about unemployment benefits extension either!

  18. Alley, I am soooo sorry to hear that! You have done so much for ALL of us :-(
I swear if I were to win the lottery I'd buy all of you a home (free and clear) and to Jerzee, thank you for your hugs. I was able to find a house for my family with the condition that I had to rehab it for the landlord (thats why I haven't been in the conversations much) He will allow me to move in without a job and no security BUT I have to prove that I am getting unemployment and pay first months rent. (Glad grandma always taught me to be able to work with your hands) Never thought I'd have to fall back on those skills to survive. So if the senate acts right we are ok and if they don't I know a really nice house freshly rehabbed that someone would love to rent. lol Keep your heads up folks. We've survived this far.
